The following restrictions are effective from the 17th May (Step 3 of the roadmap):

  • Singles and doubles play is permitted. Players from different households can play doubles together as long as they stay two metres (six feet) apart as far as possible.
  • The organised Club Play, Ladies’ and Men’s night sessions are permitted. Players must enter their contact details in a book which is situated by the clubhouse door. This is required for the government’s Test and Trace. The magnetic name tags in the clubhouse must NOT be used.
  • For other informal play, the group size is limited to a maximum of 30 people by law.
  • Access to the clubhouse is permitted for use of the toilets, for retrieval and storage of tennis balls/equipment, for use of the floodlights, and in emergencies for use of the first aid kit and defibrillator.
  • Access to the clubhouse is NOT permitted for use of the changing rooms, kitchen (except for operation of the floodlights) and seating area. No gatherings are permitted inside the clubhouse.
  • Members may use the club’s balls if they wish. Only one person at a time to collect and return the balls.
  • Individual and group coaching is permitted with the club coach (up to 15 people excluding the coach).
  • Juniors members under the age of 13 years must NOT be left at the club unless supervised by a parent or guardian except when they are taking part in coaching by the club coach. Juniors aged 13 years and over may attend the club unsupervised providing their parent or guardian has given them permission to attend the club. This is in accordance with the normal club rules.
  • Non-member adults accompanying junior members are NOT permitted to play.
  • No playing visitors unless for prospective new members pre-arranged with the membership secretary (free introductory session).

  • Communal rackets may be used. Please clean rackets after use and wash hands before and after use.

  • Singles play ONLY, unless players are all from the same household/support bubble.

Following the Prime Minister’s announcement on Thursday 28th May and the LTA’s latest guidance, the tennis club will remain open with the following new restrictions effective from Monday 1st June:
RESTRICTIONS UPDATED (28TH AUGUST): CLUBHOUSE KITCHEN ACCESS AND FLOODLIGHT USAGE.

  • Singles and doubles play is permitted. Players from different households can play doubles together as long as they stay two metres (six feet) apart as far as possible.
  • Social sessions (Club Play), Ladies’ and Men’s nights are permitted. Players must enter their contact details in a book which is situated by the clubhouse door. This is required for the government’s Test and Trace. The magnetic name tags in the clubhouse must NOT be used.
  • Access to the clubhouse is permitted for use of the toilets and changing rooms, for retrieval and storage of tennis balls/equipment, for use of the floodlights (from 28th August), and in emergencies for use of the first aid kit and defibrillator.
  • Access to the clubhouse is NOT permitted for use of the kitchen (except for operation of the floodlights from 28th August) and seating area. No gatherings are permitted inside the clubhouse.
  • Members may use the club’s balls if they wish.
  • Individual and group coaching is permitted with the club coach (up to 15 people excluding the coach).
  • Juniors members under the age of 13 years must NOT be left at the club unless supervised by a parent or guardian except when they are taking part in coaching by the club coach. Juniors aged 13 years and over may attend the club unsupervised providing their parent or guardian has given them permission to attend the club. This is in accordance with the normal club rules.
  • Non-member adults accompanying junior members are NOT permitted to play.
  • No playing visitors unless for prospective new members pre-arranged with the membership secretary.
  • Parents and other spectators should remain socially distanced whilst attending events such as the club championships. Groups must be restricted to discrete six person gathering limits and spread out in accordance with wider government guidance.
  • All visitors must enter their contact details in a book which is situated by the clubhouse door. This is required for the government’s Test and Trace.
  • Communal rackets may be used. Please clean rackets after use and wash hands before and after use.
  • The ball machine may be used. Please clean equipment after use and wash hands before and after use.
  • The floodlights may now be used (from 28th August). Please pay by bank transfer and wash hands before and after operating the lights/updating the book.

All courts will be open for use subject to strict social distancing and hygiene practices being employed.

Please adhere to the following advice:

  • Activity should be in line with the Government’s advised social distancing measures at all times, including when arriving to and departing from a court.
  • Players are advised not to change ends during play.
  • Ensure no physical contact between players during warm-ups or games.
  • No extra-curricular or social activity should take place.
  • Players should wash hands before and after a tennis session without exception (or use an alcohol gel if washing hands is not possible).
  • Clean rackets.
  • Avoid touching your face.

  • Individual and small group coaching with the club coach (up to six people including the coach).
  • No visitors unless accompanying a junior member or, for prospective new members, pre-arranged with the membership secretary.

Following the Government’s announcement on Friday 20th March and the LTA’s latest guidance, the clubhouse will be closed from Saturday 21st March until further notice.

Courts however will remain open for use subject to strict social distancing and hygiene practices being employed.

Please adhere to the following advice:

  • Activity should be in line with the Government’s advised social distancing measures at all times (defined by Public Health England as spending no more than 15 minutes and not within a 2-metre distance talking to someone), including when arriving to and departing from a court.
